does anyone port revolver barrels?

Can you get a revolver barrel ported/ or a compensater installed? If so, who does it, to what kinds of revolvers, and what do they charge/how do you get a hold of them? Thanks!

I've had a Ruger and a S&W ported by MagnaPport and feel it was money well spent. Have to be carefull at the range and have the ears well protected.

What caliber gun do you want ported? I have a .357 that came ported, but it's really not needed. I don't think it's really going to help all that much until you get something larger than a .44 mag.

The folks at Magnaport are really the experts. I have had numerous S&W custom revolvers worked up for me by S&W gunsmiths at the factory.
They send the revolver first to Magnaport to have it ported(S&W's porting price) then when they get it back they finish the rest of the work.
Let me say though that I now question the need for porting. I respect your position on porting sir.

My 7.5" FA 83 is ported and the recoil is still plenty stiff but the muzzle flip is abated some.  I'm not now convinced it is worth the price.

I have a BFR in 500 Mag that was ported by Mag-na-port. They also cut the barrel to 6 inches. It reduced the muzzle flip but the recoil is still there. But I am not recoil sensitive.  ;D

Bob Cogan at Accurate plating & weaponry, Inc. will do it I saw a S&W that he did, along with a trigger job. I didn't get to shoot it. :'(
