I love my 270
« on: September 17, 2006, 12:01:24 PM »
I went to the range today to do the seasonal zero check. I took several rifles but the 270 was first in line. 3 inches high at 100 yards and the first two shots were so close together I couldn't see the second in the spotting scope, the third made a cloverleaf but the total group size was right at half an inch. The load is 58.0 grains of H4831, Winchester brasss and primers topped with the 150 grain Partition gold bullets I bought as seconds from Nosler's Shooters Pro shop. I also shot two 130 grain Hornady interloks loaded with 59 grains of the same pound of H4831, they hit 1/2 inch lower and were almost touching. I then cased the rifle. My 7x57 puit two shots into a little over an inch also 3 inches high, Put that one back in the case too. I now have 5 ready to go hunting rifles that average MOA or less. Makes it hard to pick which one to hunt with.
