The Traditions are a good rifle for the money and are fine shooters. I like the deep land/groove configuration the barrels have and the idea of proper twist rates. 1-48 is a slow twist for .32-.40 cal. rifles and made for ball shooting.
The locks are stamped and can be a bit rough from the factory. Yet with proper tuning, i.e.,dis-assembly and polishing with a fine stone too remove any trace of sharp edges or burrs on all of the working parts, it's fast and reliable. The leaf spring is strong, and all parts are readily available for replacement if lost or broken.
The double set triggers of the Traditions can be confusing for the novice to adjust. Their like backwards from the common T/C and Lyman style trigger, just clean them well and read the instructions carefully and you can have a "hair" trigger set if you like.
It's like this, if you can "tinker" a bit, you'll have a "tack driver"
