FN49 "AL" Luxemborg 30-06
« on: April 10, 2003, 03:42:38 PM »
I picked up an FN49 "AL" Luxemborg 30-06 today for $399 like new condition. I was shocked to find one in this condition priced so low. Most of them are priced around $1200.  The lower side of the stock is marked "FN" so its the orginal stock too.  I hope FN's are good shooters its my first one.                                   BigBill

You Got A Steal !!!!
My Father has an FN 49 in 7mm Mauser !!
It was made for Venesuela (Spelled wrong i'm sure)
And it is Deadly accurate in his 73 year old hands!
Old Gunny Sgt.'s still got it, I have seen him put a hole
through a milk jug cap at 108 meters with that rifle,
off hand, Open sights !!!

I could barely even see the cap!

Also, just to brag on the old fart,
You should see him do "Rifle Drill Moves"
With my M1.   --- A Thing Of Beauty!!!!!
Although I do "Draw Up" a little seeing my
M1 Spinning around like that !!!

I also bought another SVT-40 Tokarev there for $300 too. So good finds are still out there if we look.                          BigBill

That sounds awesome your dad can shoot!!! I heard about the FN's for a while but never seen one their scarce and high priced but the 7MM is a very accurate round the 30-06 was designed from the 7mm(7x57). It a comfortable shooter even in a bolt action mauser too similair to a swede but more power.                                         BigBill

I just bid on an 8mm fn today too.
