dangerous game
« on: August 25, 2006, 10:18:04 AM »
what is the most dangerous game ? People say it's people but we are very easy to kill, if you shot someone with a 300win mag. or 375H&H we would be really dead.

I say the Vorpal Bunny is the most dangerous game.

I think any of the big five, when you botch the shot, quickly become the MOST dangerous game.
When seconds mean life or death, the police are only minutes away!

i think i have found the most dangerous game, the Africa crocodile. In outdoor life in FEB of 2000 there is a story of one being shot with a 338 win.mag at 200 yards and they assumed it was dead and they put in a boat and it got up and almost killed the 2 hunters. also on OLN they shot one with a 470 and it took off in the water and they found it and it took 3  470,2  458 win mag and 1  416 to kill it. Now that i would say is dangerous game.

Something fishy about a story that claims a croc was shot at 200 yards, Maybe 20 yards.

Crocs in water are shot in the brain which is about a 2" square target with ZERO margin for error. A mistake with this shot sends them into the river and under water they could come up a 1/2 mile away and be lost forever.

I have never heard of anyone ever shooting more then about 100 yards and almost all shots are 75 yards or less.

How about a wounded leapord?  Rarely growl before charging.  He may attack from above, and can disembowel a man (or several) in an instant.

  I'd call it poor shooting!!!

I suppose there is alot of options here to pick:  and every situation has its own "most dangerous game".

If your on a REALLY high tree, then your probebly safe to hunt elephants but you have to watch out for tigers being on that tree lol.

I heard tigers are some of the most dangerous things to hunt, even if you shoot em in the heart, they can still charge at you for another 45 seconds to 1 minute, damn that enough time for it to kill me and anyone else with me.

Question, while dangerous game hunting, are MOST shots aimed at the brain ? shoulder ? heart ? gut (doubt it) ? or anywhere the cross hairs aim

All animals that are prone to fight back get called dangrious but all don't eat meat! I'd think that the most dangerious would be the meat eater's. Meat eater's may well be hunting a meal and find you handy, that's a problem. Buffalo get a mouthfull of grass when they are hungry, they only come looking for you after you ticked them off. I'm not sure any grazing or brousing animal would spot you across a field and come over just to beat you up. I also think that if you were stuck in a cardboard box with a scared dik-dik you'd have a good chance of being hurt.

Now the most dangerious is definately humans, we kill for sport, to steal, out of vengence and for gain!
