Dear Lord, As we Americans approach an anniversary that will forever be burned into our minds and hearts, I pause now to reflect on the past pains that we have suffered and endured. My main concern is for the children as they are our future and unfortunatly are the most impacted by the events of 9/11. Be with those that cry out for closure that will not come in this lifetime. Please help us to turn to you and to one another for comfort, strength, and a will to see and make better day. Our hearts cry out for loved ones, fellow country men, women, and children that we have lost. No amount of tears can wash away the memories of such an unexpected horror and loss of innocent life. Help us to remember Job and strive to acheive that level of trust in you. Forgive our nation for the many times that we have turned our back on you and really wound up failing you, each other, and ultimately ourselves. Guide our leaders to make decisions that will not be for their personal gratification but for the well being of the common citizens. Help us remember that our feeble human minds cannot see the master plan that you have created but thankfully you will see us through to the end. Be with the children of the world as many of them know hunger as their daily pain. And Lord, Thank you for the day to day blessings that we so often overlook. A hug from someone, a kind word when it is most needed, a smile from a child who wants nothing more than to be accepted, an unexpected call from a lost friend, a sunny day to get out, a rainy day to hold a loved one, a new friend to trust, a trust restored, a meal shared with or prepared by loved ones, and all the other things we have to give thanks for.............................Forgive us Lord we have forgotten where our daily bread comes from and that you will stand with and for us as long as we trust in you. (We print it on the back of our money and it needs to be back on the front of our lives.) Sincerely, Anthony Bolden
