Rossi/Legacy Puma extractor too tight...
« on: November 02, 2006, 11:40:14 AM »
Howdy all,

I have a new Puma rifle in .357. that I like a lot! It seems to be a great gun, but the one problem I can't get past is the effort needed to close the action.

At first I thought it was the ejector/spring/collar - but they seem good, I filed down the "hump" the spring rides over, and it's not bad. Once the gun was back together, I saw what the real problem is - as the extractor rides up the rim of the case, it takes a lot of effort - once it's snapped over the rim you can open/close the action with almost no effort.

So - how the heck do you lighten the power of the extractor?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Take care,
Bob S.

www.brownells.com Lee's gunslingerspring kits. It will cure all the Rossi's spring problems.
