T/C Omega X7

While on Cabela's website last night I saw they had the Omega X7 on sale for $100 off their regular price.  Might just have to break down and get one as it's the only Omega that fits my short arms.  For me the regular Omega's are too long in the LOP and not comfortable for me to shoot.  Thought Fox Ridge had the answer with the Omega Carbine but all they did was shorten the barrel and left the LOP long.  Anyhow I guess I've talked myself into it now.  Just hope it shoots good.

Buy T/C bullets at first - plus loose powder for faster and easier sighting-in. After you know that your new ML is accurate, then try other bullet brands and pellets if you want.

Right you are Biff.  All I use is loose powder and T/C bullets.  Was using the T/C Mag Sabots in my Huntsman until I tried the T/C Cheap Shots which do just as well and are just as accurate and cheaper.  They do real good on deer too.  Of course the Omega might like something else.  Tried the pellets years ago but figured they cost too much compared to loose powder and it's just as easy to load up a bunch of quick shots before going out. We'll see when it gets here.

I too, just picked up the stainless x7 from the Cabelas Hamburg, PA store last week. The carbine is regularly priced @ $549.99, but was on sale for $100.00 off. I also recieved a coupon for an additional $100.00 off  in the mail from Cabelas that could be used on an in-store purchase of $450.00 or more. Subtract an additional $171.00 that I had accumulated in Cabelas' "club points" from my Cabelas Visa card, and I walked out the door with a brand new Omega x7 for $178.99 out of pocket cost!!!
Even my wife thought it was a good deal.

loaded4bear you got one heck of a nice deal on that X7.  I opted for the blued model which is a Cabela's exclusive.  I'm really not too crazy about stainless but that's just me.  Should have mine this week hopfully then we'll see how it shoots.

Just a warning, I had to call them and have them send me a taller front sight....it was not even close to being able to zero (like 8in high at 50 yds) as equipped from the factory.  I replaced it and shot it this weekend, does great with 300gr Keith Nose PR bullets.

I tried ONE of the 250gr Shockwaves....unfortunately I got it in too far to turn back and ended up pounding it home with a hammer and block of wood. :/

Just received the X7 yesterday.  Nice looking rifle.  First thing I noticed is the action is extremely hard to open and really closes with a very loud snap.  Is this going to loosen up or are they all like that?  It's loud enough to scare all the deer in the woods.  My son's Omega isn't near that loud.  Anybody else have a stiff action like that?
