Someone posted about making them himself and asked how much we were willing to pay for them, but that never happened. H&R is the only source for the steel parts that I know of, I found a steel trigger guard at Brownell's, but turned out to be for the old H&R Ultra bolt action. :'(

You can try Gold enamel, from an antique shop it tough and shoud stay on pretty good. Two three coats with 1200 grit sanding in between.

I think that would look pretty classy.

Plating the steel parts would be another option. Any plate shop that does custom work for motorcycles and classic/custom cars should be able to create the look desired.

Cost is a the deciding factor, but then within reason that's a small concern when discussing hobbies, RESULTS are what matters, no?

I've thought about the very same thing in brass. The forend spacer should be easy, but the trigger guard may be more difficult. There's a metal foundry near my house, and I've been meaning to go see how much it would be to cast the new parts, but I've never taken the trigger guard off my Handi before, so I'm a little reluctant to try. Maybe, I'll give it a go this winter.

you could get the spacer and trigger guard  from h&r remove the blue and use laurel mountainforge barrel brown if the parts are realy polished and you rub the solution on hard and fast it comes out a brite copper coulor i have tride it on a pice of polished steel. thats what i would do for the buff classic it would match the frame.
