Try it with some caps-only!

If the action closes properly & the nipple doesn't get damaged - then all is well for a real trial with a low powder charge -- then gradually increase it.

The best answer lies at...
info@cva.com

Be sure to include the serial numbers to both rifles in your email. Allow one week for an answer from them. Their online tech service is..... s - l - o - w

As stated, send the question to CVA. There is a BP that can use #11 and Musket caps (with a nipple change) for the FireBolt/HunterBolt line of rifles, some guns came with both BP's. When you contact CVA, ask them about it. I recently asked about using the Optima style BP in my Bolt gun and they sent me one free of charge to try out to see if it had less fouling in the action. I recieved it 8 days after my first email to them so I thought it was pretty quick service. They sometimes do get backed up but so far I have always gotten quick responses from them.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It's better to shoot for the sky and come a bit short than to shoot for the ground and hit every time. After all, the ground is just a place to start, the sky's the limit.

I believe they use the same breech plug as on the CVA website it lists the breechplug as fitting all "standard inlines".

At one time they packed both the #11 and 209 breech plug with all the inlines but so many of the #11s were never used, they stop doing it as a money saver I guess.

If you called CVA they might even give you one for free.
