Aimpoint for crickett?
« on: November 19, 2006, 02:51:35 PM »
I posted something similar in the optics before I remembered this thread...this one probably has the rimfire experts>>>>

I was looking at laser dot scopes for my daughters Crickett 22, but Im not sure if they will work out. The ones I saw at the local bass pro said they had 100 yard parallax setting. How much of a problem would that be for an 8yr old that rarely plinks mainly in the 10- 20 yard range? What size dots should I get? I know nothing about laser dot scopes.

The factory peep/post sight gave her fits, I stuck an old Simmons rimfire scope on it and she does well with that but the dang thing is 1/3 the length and weight of the whole rifle.

here's a good web site you might want to check out www.crankyfarmer.com they have some good short and very light weight scopes. i bought a nc-star 3x9x42 for my henry 22 lever mag and i am very happy with it. i called and ordered over the phone and the coustomer service was great and recieved the scope in less than a week.

ive had the same problems with my crickett i bought myn for squirrel/coon hunting and i can use it because of the peepsight. that darm peepsight is the only downfall ive found to these rifles it would have to b harder for an 8 year old to shoot with it than a 16 year old. im gonna cap a bsa 4x32 on myn and c how it works.

I put the simmons 22 mag scope on my daughters. Here is a pic of her tack driver.
