Recycled brass question
« on: September 28, 2006, 12:38:14 PM »
How much can I expect to get per pound of brass that I sell to a scrap yard?

I've got some that's been piling up for years and I'd like to sell it.

call around and get a quote.  I saw $0.30/# for copper on a sign.  I think yellow brass is a little more.  The lady was very interested in my little pile while I was recycling aluminum and I haven't made it back.

I have tried doing it several times. But the recyclers tell me that they are not allowed to take brass cartridges case.Is there a place that does?scrap yards I have not tried.Just the big recycle centers like reynolds.

They'll take fired rifle brass around here.  I haven't taken any in since last year, but at that time it was $0.95/lb.  I'm almost certain it's gone up since then.  Last time I went to the range I took a bucket, broom and dustpan for the first time.  Picked up 6 or 7 pounds of mostly rimfire brass.
