What's a good Traditional Broadhead??

Ok guy's I know the traditional hunters are out there. What broadheads are you shooting with your setups? Are you using wood or Aluminum and at what draw weight? Any good or bad experiences that have led you to your present set up?

I use the Magnus Journeyman broadhead. I shoot wood arrows . I like the shape and they are easy to sharpen ,which I think is most important. I shoot a 62# bow and use a heavy arrow and 160 gr. head with 5" shield cut feathers. giving me about 170 fps. My personal range limit is 25 yds.

bear razorheads ride my shafts.  magnus makes good blades,  also; and might be easier to find now-a-days.

I like cut on impact blades I keep setup with my arrows
(which are cedar) I keep the weight around 500 grians.
Broadheads are 125 grn. snuffer three blades.
My shaft are spined between 50-55# I use these with my recurveas well as my selfbow which is made 50#@28 and 68" long. with this set-up  all bows shoot very well.

:-D  :-D    I use a lotta differant points.  I do have some bear razorheads left,and they are guarded very jealously.  They are used out of an old recurve KODIAK FROM 1953.  I also use the eskimo heads,and like them due to being easy ta sharpen,and they stay sharp.  Have nevery had any problem eith them.,  They are being used on wood arrows on draw weights of 55 to a 120 #.  Even a light bow,like the 55 will put an arrow all the way through on a chest shot.  Also have some old three blade heads,that shoot well also.  They are great when they encounter shoulder bone,or for that matter any bone,just kinda keep right on going.  Never had a problem on any hits with any of these type of heads.  I do wanna try some Rib-Tec if I can find some.

A little over a year ago I switched over from Bear Razorheads to Steel Force Premium 125 grain.  They just seem to take and keep an edge better than the Bear Razorhead.  I use these in my old 1965 Bear Kodiak 65#.  Lawdog

A Good Broadhead

I have hunted with the Snuffer 145 and/or 160 grain broadhead.  It seems to be the only head I can get hair popping sharp!  I have had an enterance and an exit wound on all the deer I have shot with them and have not lost a deer hit with them.  Have played around with others but figure if if ain't broke, don't fix it!

I hunt with a 70# recurve. I shoot a 585 gr. total wt. carbon arrow with a 175gr. steel force head.(Glue-on with an addaptor).

I've tried nearly every 3 to 1 ratio head made, IMHO steelforce is hands down the best made today. I've killed deer & boar here and plains game in Africa with no problems. On my Kudu I cut through a rib on the exit side.

I like 3 or 4 blade cut-on-contact broadheads like: Satilite Titan, Steel Force, Magnus, Wensel Woodsman and Razor Caps(which were recently sold to Muzzy). 125gr. weights ONLY.

I'm currently shooting aluminum 2013s that are 29 1/2" long with 5" 3 fletch. I intend to try carbon arrows this year. Carbon arrows last longer and have better penetration due to their lack of in flight flexing.

My bow is a 64" Assenheimer custom recurve that's 56# @ 28". I use an instinctive sighting method and shoot the arrows off of a "rug" style rest.

I shoot a 53# longbow.  I use carbon and cedar arrows.  With the carbons I shoot the 125 gr Steelforce BHs.  With the cedars I shoot 125gr Simmons Landshark BHs.

My first trad bowkill was with the Steelforce.  The buck was moving from my left to right and I thought it had stopped.  Apparently it had not.  I hit it in the back ham and the broadhead broke the legbone on that side, went through the bottom side of the spinal column and lodged in the leg bone on the off side.

When we removed the broadhead it was still scary sharp, but we have a "tradition" of hanging the kill arrow and broadhead on the rack.  It was a nice 7 pt killed in GA.

I use 100 grain Steel Force Sabertooth 4 blade. They shoot better than others I've tried.

Zwicky , Magnus, or Wenzel Woodsman. I shoot 50-55# recurves and all these heads have taken deer and bear cleanly.
