So far this is my best load shot from my K98.  Hornady 195 gr. SP and 40.9 gr. 4064

My sporterized K98 likes 44 grains of Varget with the 200 grain Speer Spitzers and 43 grains of IMR 4064 with the Nosler 180 grain Ballistic Tips. My Russian Capture K98 also likes these loads.
Hunting and fishing are not matters of life or death. They are much more important than that.

My 98 Mauser is liking 50 grs. of IMR 4350 and 44-46 grs. of RL 15. All with the Hornady 195 gr. SP. CCI 200 Primers.

IMR 2064 powder produces sub MOA in both my 8MM mauser rifles.

In my hunting 8mm, I use the 175 Sierra as well as the 170 Hornady RN, for whitetails, with excellent results. The Sierra is chronographed from my 20" barrel @ 2700fps and the Hornady RN a bit slower at 2650fps.

Its THE only powder I will use for this caliber!!

My old NORMA data sheet shows 48.3 to 49.4 of Norma 203 under a 196 gr bullet.  I used a similar load under a 200 gr Speer or Nosler bullet.  The Norma data shows 2600fps, just about 100fps slower than their data for ,30-06/200
