A close friend called me this morning, saying he read it on the internet that Jeff Cooper has passed on. I haven't found it anywhere, so I can't verify that statement. If so, we have lost a giant in the hand-gun shooting world.

He seems to have had a good life, doing what he liked to do. Can't beat that!

It's not a rumor. He died at Gunsite in Arizona yesterday. He had a pretty good run, having been born in 1920.

If you go to the Guns&Ammo website they have a tribute to Jeff Cooper. I always read Cooper's Corner first when I read the magazine.

That's too bad. I enjoyed reading his articles and his thoughts on handguns and rifles. I will miss Cooper's Corner. I will also miss his straightforward way he made his positions on many things. Mikey.

I was watching a show on one of the cable channels a few months back
and he was still shooting pretty avidly then.. HE did what he loved all the way to the end.
I am pretty sure he was a religious man, so I will bet heaven just got a lot louder !

I read the Guns and Ammo web site tribute to him and liked it. It's worth your time if you haven't read it.
