« on: November 13, 2006, 04:47:55 PM »
I thought i'd post a pict of a moose i harvested with my drilling in the interior of Alaska.  It was a great hunt, and i also took ducks and both ruff and spruce grouse for camp meat..  The river was full is pike too!

  Doug,

It's the same drilling i'm shooting today, it's just before most of the work was done on it...  It's 8x57jrs....  I use to load the ammo hotter back then, but after all the work was done on it i lowered the load a bit so the gun will last me the rest of my life.  I didn't have it scoped back then either, so i took the bull from 150 yards with open sights.  There's quite a story that goes with it, but it's too long to put here...

Tomorrow is opening day for firearms deer season here, and i've been seeing a few bucks.  I supect i'll have one come out to my food plot tomorrow sometime, and if so i'll post a pict. of it...  Of course, i'll be useing my old drilling!   8)

There is something that changed in the picture.  Wait its the .... Scope.  I see you added the scope.

Nice buck.

I will be taking only does again this year off the ranch as I am trying to build a nice buck population.  Currently we have 5-8  year olds that are in the 8-10 point range.  I can't wait until they get to 5...
