Question about GREEN MOUNTAIN BARRELS and T/Cs
« on: November 19, 2006, 02:31:43 PM »
I picked up a Renegade with a 15/16" barrel in 54cal.  I got it cheap and want to use it as a whitetail rifle next deer season (I got one Friday with my HUNTSMAN!).  I'm looking to get a drop in GMB and was wondering....

1)the ones that fit the Hawkens also fit the Renegade?

2)what do I have to do to the GMB if I get a longer one, 32" instead of my stock 28"?

3)will other T/C Hawken/Renegade barrels off of other rifles fit mine as long as they are 15/16"?

Lefty
I'll be needing that for squirrels and such.....

I ain't never been lost in my life, been a might confused for a month or so.....

Pilgram, are you sure you know how to skin grizzer bear.....

Don't run little squirrel, you'll only die tired....

You sure it's 15/16"?  I'm not aware that T/C built a .54 less than 1".

Just checking...

Renegades are 1"  Hawkens 54's are also 1". What do you have?

My calipers measured it at 15/16".  It measures the same as my buddies T/C Hawkens in 50cal, and I know its a 15/16".

Anyways, I'll call it a 1" then if it makes everyone happy.

I don't know that they are the same, but GM does make drop in barrels for the Renegade. About the only difference I can think of would be where they put the barrel wedges in the stock rifle.  ;)

Have you shot the T/C enough to see if you really want to replace their barrel. I have both 54 cal GM and T/C Renegade the T/C will out shoot the GM that I have every time. Both are good shooting.

Not yet, my molds should be here before the weekend.  I was just wondering about getting a longer barrel for it.
