Mossberg 151M(a)
« on: October 08, 2006, 01:44:22 PM »
Hey guys. I picked up this rifle over the weekend at the local gunshow. I haven't had a chance to shoot it but was wondering if there was somebody out there who has or has had one of these. It has 4 different front sights that slip into place. What I don't understand is that when the front posts click into place, they are not centered on the barrel. Is this just how it is, or do I have to center it myself between slots?

There should be a hood that slides over the front sight. that will center the front posts.

not trying to derail your thread,  but if you visit www.rimfirecentral.com   they have a group designated to mossberg 22 owners.   there are several guys who have knowledge in these fine old guns.   i have  46b mossberg bolt action which has the same sights and like the previous post mentioned,  when the hood is installed,  the selected sight should self center.   there are even folks over there who have new and used hoods to cover the sights.   these sights really ought to have the hood over them at all times,  they are a little delicate in some ways.   and since the hood slides on,  it is easy to get snagged in the woods and lost.   extras are nice to have.    you have a good gun,   i am sure you will enjoy it,  they are great shooters.
