Because the T/C is built as a hunting/long range pistol, same as the D/W in that cal., the twist rate is 1-14. Which means that it stabilizes the heavier bullets better. The cartridgfe itself, in what I found out, and all my friends that use to shoot it in silhouette, the best accuracy was always close to max loads.
I was helping a friend out many years ago, work up loads for his 10''T/C in that caliber. Gun could very easily shoot 1''-2'' at 100yds, over bags with a scope. But then it started to shoot a pattern, instead of a group. My buddy, had switched primers, and groups opened up to 4''-5''. Let your gun tell you what it likes.
Although I like messing around with wildcat cartridge's, my 2 cents worth, stick with the Max. Carbide dies,no fire forming, and almost the same results down range. Good luck-gypsyman
