On game performance part two
« on: October 10, 2006, 02:39:21 PM »

Shot this 3x2 whitetail this morning the deer weighted 137#. Same set up as my hog post...this time the bullet destroyed both shoulders and was found just under the skin on the off side. The shot distance was 55 yards.

Nice job.
I think that you will get a better reception here than over on AT.

Congratulations! Have you weighed the bullet to see how much weight it retained? I have been thinking about trying that bullet, if you could weigh it and take a pic of it an post, I would appreciate it very much.

Here you go Busta, i'll have to get my Pa-inlaws grain scale but i'll wager it is pretty darn close to 250 grains. The hog i shot droped in his tracks and the bullet went throuh the shoulders. The deer took about five steps and fell...both of his shoulders looked like they had been put in a grinder. Go buy yourself some of the Bonded Shockwaves...I would buy the new two petal easy loading variety. I understand they shoot just as great.

Thanks, that looks like it held together real well. I shot one through the shoulders a couple years ago with the 200 gr Shockwave and found it under the hide on the far side. The lead could be pulled out of the jacket and it only retained 65% of its weight, if I remember correctly.
