Ah yes, the first ML hunt! I remember my first one. I thought for sure there was no way in heck that I could kill a deer with something so primitive. I didn't trust one gun so I had a TC Renegade in .50, a put together 12 ga loaded with patched roundball and a Ruger Old Army stuffed with conicals. I must have looked like Jerimiah Johnson, or an idiot, I'm betting the latter. Imagine my surprise when the smoke cleared and that Maxiball had dropped the doe in her tracks. I was amazed with that Renegade. Now I hardly shoot anything that isn't loaded with BP. I do all my deer hunting and most of my turkey hunting, CAS and trap all with BP.
