Bought a .270 Today
« on: October 12, 2006, 01:57:38 PM »
I got it for $175.00 with a scope mounted on it.  It's a 1999 era SB2 reciever.  I'm gonna part it out and probably get a .30-30 barrel for it.  I think if I play my cards right I won't have much in a finished .30-30 rifle.  I ruined the hammer extension trying to get it off.  I was gonna stick it on my .45-70.  I thought the knurlled portion woud just unscrew, but it twisted in half and never even budged.

The hammer extension has an 8x32 set screw inside it that takes a 5/64" allen wrench. This info is in the FAQ and Help. ;)

I would be interested in the barrel.
