How did everyone do this fall.
« on: November 19, 2006, 06:46:49 AM »
Lets see how everyone did this fall.

I only managed a caribou hunt.  Had the goat pack set for five weeks and the marine forecast and weather did not allow me out.  Still have a moose tag for Thanksgiving weekend.

I will try to post a pic latter, 12 tries is fustrating.

In August a GI we took with us shot a nice Caribou.  In September one of my float party shot a Bull Moose.  In October I shot two Cow Moose with proxies for disabled friends.  In November I shot a nice Caribou, with half a rack, and my 2 partners got one each.  I'm now waiting for this cold spell to break to go out for a Moose of my own, and to put out my traps.  No hurry, just take it one day at a time.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Got my first black bear this year.  Went to POW with 4 friends, 1st bear hunt for everyone.  Pilot dropped us off in a sound and we saw 2 boats in a week of hunting.  I've been to Alaska twice and haven't been disappointed yet with the people or the hunting.
