Have any of you owned the Knight American and how did you like them? I recently picked two of them up at a good price and what do you reccomend  shooting in them? Thanks

I'd like to know about the American as well. Wallmart has one for $89 in their rack (#11 ignition)... Is it worth it?

I have a hunting buddy that has had one for several years...He has converted to 209 ignition...With 90 grains of fff Triple Seven and a 250 Hornady Shockwave it will shoot a 2 inch group at 150 yards...My Knight Disc won't do as well...Both have Green Mountain barrels but the American Knight does not have an adjustable trigger...

I would wipe-out all their stock for that price. That is a great buy.

These guns are some of the older models. I just wondered how they would shoot. I failed to state that they were the older models. thanks

I have a knight wolverine in 50 cal.  The American Knight is basically an economy model that is real similar to the wolverine.

In my wolverine, 80 grains of 777 fffg topped with a 220 grain Dead Center Sabot and ignited with the standard ol #11 primer will consistantly shoot a ragged hole .4 inch group at 100 yards.  My encore won't do better than an inch.  Heck, only my custom 7mag will do better.  I think some modest load of 777 80-100 grains and some quality sabot, SST, Dead Center, etc. will be the ticket for your gun.  I would also stay with the #11 cap.  Ignition is fine.

I have an American Knight that I picked up used as a back up to my Wolverine. I converted it to 209, and I shoot 300 grain XTPs over 100 grains of Select or RS. Very accurate and deadly. The previous owner was shooting 240 grain XTPs over 100 grains RS, with similar results. Great gun, get it and as many more as you can afford!

There goes another 100 bucks I didn't need to spend.  I've got an older Knight Wolverine with the #11 cap ignition.  It shoots incredibly well.  I've shot it both with 90 grains pyrodex RS and a 300 grain hornady XTP bullet and most recently with 80 grains of 777 and a 220 grain precision rifle dead center bullet.  Both shoot incredibly tight groups.  However, I had troubles with the XTP's expanding and killing anything (I know others like them, this is just my personal experience).  I think you would really like the gun if you purchased it.  Good luck, Greg
