Marlin 1895 stock/lever replacement
« on: October 12, 2006, 10:47:30 AM »
Hi everybody. I got a problem.
I would like to replace the factory straight stock of my Marlin 1895M Guide Gun with a pistol one (like the 1895MR's one), but I've been told that it's not possible due to some different part inside.
Anyone could give me some advice? Any hints welcome
Thanks

You would need to change the lever to match the pistol grip's curve.

I just re=-read this and it is likely that you are refering to a rifle with a crossbolt safety. If so there is a change in the internals and a lever from a pistol grip rifle would have to be found. It is also possible to bend the existing lever to conform..although it is touchy work because of timing issues. It is possible..  It may well be cheaper to simply buy a pistol grip version.. and cut it down to the GuideGun length..
