Hi:

Don't know if I worded it right, but I was wondering if the 24 inch barrels that Marlin puts on their laminated stocked rifles can be put on the Walnut stocked rifles that are the same caliber? Is this possible, or do they have a different setup on the laminated rifles?

thanks,

Sounds like a good question for Marlin, or a time to take a close look at the two types side-by-side.  The threads should be the same but the forearm hanger might be in a different place.

If you call Marlin's Gun Service they will tell you,, and also will tell you how much to do it..   You don't need ffl to ship to factory and back to you either..  they can explain it all to you..

To the best of my knowledge they would probably prefer to do the conversion to make sure its safe rather than just sell anyone except a ffl or gunsmith a barrel. but I can't really tell you for sure..

They wont sell you a barrel.  They do many other conversions tho & might do the work for you.
I'd be willing to bet the dovetails are in the same place on all of them. I have a 22" 1895S barrel I intend to put on my Guide gun some day & the forearm will fit.
