CLARK COLT
« on: November 02, 2006, 01:04:47 PM »
Clark Custom Colt today at Collectors firearms.
Six inch Colt in .45 cal. series 70.
Clark Custom.
Smooth slide and trigger.
Horrible Bo-Mar front and rear target sights (adjustable & LARGE).
God awful wrap around Hogue grips.
Very Good condition.
$1350.00
I figgered at least $150.00 to get rid of the sights--maybe more to take care of the screw holes-and put on some Hienie slants.
I offered $1000.00 plus tax----They politely refused.
I made no counter offer.
Dang it all--Collector Firearms is proud of their stuff---which is why I have never bought anything from them.
Blessings

I think the refusal is because it's worth more than $1000 to a bullseye shooter. A comparable new gun is going to be about 1400 to 1500 today. If it's suitable as a hardball gun I'd consider such a gun, but the price would have to be no more than 1100. You may want to mention to them that the Clark name isn't what it used to be in the world of bullseye guns in particular, and in 1911s in general.
