Will this frame accept rifle barrels?
« on: October 19, 2006, 10:21:26 AM »
I have a chance to pick up an extra frame, but I'm not sure if its a SB1 or SB2 frame.  It's finished similar to the Buffalo Classics, but has the standard pallet wood stock.  I tried H&R, but they have all ready closed for the day.  Here is the serial number:

NG279***

Thanks!

G would indicate it's too old for any high pressure calibers, made in 1992. It's probably a pardner SB1 frame, I have one that is case colored made in '91. You can compare it to the pics in the FAQ, but the only sure way to find out if it's an SB1 or SB2 is to talk to H&R.

That's what I was afraid of.  Would it work for a .22 Hornet barrel, and would NEF even fit one to the frame?

If it's an SB1 frame, they won't fit any rifle barrel to it, but I shoot a hornet barrel on mine, have a couple hundred max loads down range with no problems, but that may not be the case with other frames, so be cautious when trying it out if you get a used barrel for it.
