Traditions Kentucky Pistol kit
« on: October 13, 2006, 05:26:58 AM »
I have one on lay away at my gunshop. I was wondering if anyone had built one and how would they rate it. From a dificulty rating as well as a shooter.
It was a good price and my plan is to start small and work to my goal of building a Brown Bess.

I built one several years back , had to inlet barrel, lock etc. Also had to polish brass, removed some wood from the handle too bulky. Good beginner project for anybody to try their hand at. Don't know how they are now, but you have to start some place. Take you time and think everything thru. I would next build the Lyman GPR rifle kit, you can  get very good experience with a long gun kit. Read, everthing you can on bulding rifles and smoothbores. Good Luck..
