pro chrono

I was at the range yesterday with one of my mausers and some handloads shooting through the chrono. all the shots were between 2550 and 2600 then I got one that read 3400. It hit the target right and didn't feel any different really. do they do that sometimes or what? Maybe a shadow from something made it read weird? There was no possibility of a overload shell since they were near compressed and they were all weighed.

I've used a Pro Chrono for several years, on my 2nd one, shot the first. The only thing I've noticed with strange readings is that they seem to be sensitive to a low battery. I replace it after about 5 hours "on" time. Also, I remove the battery after each session. If a string is left stored, the battery drains.
