aftermarket sights for Blackhawk?
« on: April 17, 2003, 07:54:00 AM »
Being cursed with poor eyesight,I wonder whether a white outline rear sight and a red[or white] colored front sight is available for the Ruger Blackhawk? I have done the process before with paint and brush, but a"factory" installation would be more durable.
Thanks.

In my opinion a plain black rear and a plain black front thinned to about .10 is the best sight set up going.

I use Millette White Outlined rear sights on all my NMSBH's and love them. I had to use the .360 rear blade in all the sights to keep the sight low and to have a slightly deeper sight notch.  Millette is an all steel sight with very positive click adjustments. Price is between $45-$55, depending where you get them.  Be warned though, fitting is required. You will have to file some of the frame of the gun just behind the sight blade in order for the sight to move properly in elevation. This does not show as the frome is covered by the sight. Old sights go right back on if you decide to sell the gun and want to keep the sight for another gun. Good Luck - J.Solo
