ONE BIG VOTE
« on: November 09, 2006, 04:22:42 PM »
Our local dumcrap sheriff was beaten by ONE VOTE. You might say that my wife cast the tying vote, and I broke the tie. This is for those of you who think your one vote doesn't matter, it does. POWDERMAN.
Mr. Charles Glenn “Charlie” Nelson, age 73, of Payneville, KY passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence. RIP Charlie, we'll will all miss you. GB

Depends on the race Powderman. Local races? Yes. President? No. The people haven't elected a president in years. The Electorial College does and it follows the money just like everything else. Need proof? Look no further than the 2000 elections. ::)

Not more 2000 election gripes.  The people of the various STATES elected Bush in 2000.  When was the last time the Electoral College voted in contradiction to the state votes?  I think it happened once about 120 years ago (not sure of which president).  For all of you who believe in States' rights, how can you complain about the Electoral College?  It mirrors your State's represenation in Congress.  Get over it, Gore lost.

I couldn't have been happier with the 2000 election outcome. Gore was, and is, a joke. I'm just saying the EC system seems flawed somehow. I've never understood how the EC vote can go against the popular vote.

With some of the folks and their numbers that live on the coasts I thank God that the EC is in place.
