Color of Handi-Rifle/shotgun receivers?

In the catalogs all the receivers on the Handi-rifles/shotguns appear to be a solid black, but the shotguns on display at my local walmart appear to have a multicolored heat treated color to them - what is up with that?

Some Pardners and Huntmans, the BC and Target all have case colored frames.
