The .308Marlin is listed at Sports South, not in stock yet, but it's coming. Marlin/H&R isn't real quick on updating their web site, so I wouldn't be concerned about that in the least.  ::)

MRC from what I see little from the 307, main thing is the bullet will give you a lot more distance.

are the leverevolution bullets available to handloaders? if so the reload one in a .307 and voila! same thing. seems kinda gimmicky to me...

I think it will do fairly well. The problem with the .307 is that loaded with flatnose bullets the energy figures on paper did not look real good at distances ( although drop and killing power were just fine). I'm sure that Marlin would rather not chamber a rifle for a cartridge with the "WInchester" name on it, pride and all. Hopefully this will be the first of several other calibers based on the case ( .25, .338 and/or .35.) all with levererlution bullets. Hopefully they will also find there way into the NEF rifles, and being rimmed, they would be well recieved, I think. Some say there might be confusion with the name, but I don't think so, modern buyers read more and are better informed then in the past. Also, even if some bozo gets confused and tries chambering a .308 WIn. round in one, I'm sure Marlin and Hornady made sure it would not chamber/fire in the new chambering. I for one would like a new marlin that does everything the old .250 Savage did, and maybe a bit more. Mark.
