A good load for your T/C Omega
« on: October 23, 2006, 03:29:43 AM »
First time post.

After much trial and error, I have found a load that shoots well for myself, so I thought I'd pass it on.

Gun:  T/C Omega, 2-6x Leupold

powder: T7 pellets, 110gr, 1 50g & 2 30g

bullet:  T/C Shockwave bonded 250gr

primers: Remington Kleanbore 209

2" high @ 100yds 1/2" group avg
1" low @ 150 yds 1"+ group avg

These groups were repeatable.  Gun was clean w/ a swap of T17 seasoning for each shot.
I have had a Knight Disc, and a White Montain muzzleloader.  Never have I shot better than the
"pie plate @ 100 yds".  This gun shoots every bit as good as my pump 30-06!

That is some damn good shooting. One half inch groups. With 110 gr of 777, that load has some serious horsepower.
Aim small don't miss.

Like I said,  I have had the worst luck shooting accurately with a muzzleloader.  Maybe I caught myself on a good day.  That was my best grouping.  This gun will now shoot exactly where I aim.  Couldn't be happier for a hunting gun.  It was in the high 30's, with no wind here in VT that day I shot.  I couldn't help but smile at the grouping for this gun.  Hope it works for someone else.

NEK,

I just purchased a new T/C Omega x7 carbine. I'm going to give the load listed a shot. I'd be thrilled w/ that kind of accuracy from my Omega!
Winchester makes a 209 primer specifically for use with 777 pellets....have you ever tried them?
