« on: November 01, 2006, 08:41:12 PM »
Were talking about Single Shot rifles, but I never hear anyone talk about how they carry there rounds.I carry mine in leather carriers I get from Cabelas I don't have pic's,but I can give you item #'s.I have 2 for my long cartridge's for my 45-70,444,405 the # is xt-22-5803.And 2 I just got for my 500 S&W is xt-22-7089.The first type I've had for years. There nice when your at the range and your away from the bench shooting of hand. There the best when hunting and you don't want them rattling in your pocket.I never  had one for on the stock, but a lot of people use them.Dave.

I use a but stock shell carrier on my 45-70. It's the elasitc type and I make a small hole in it to go around the sling stud then stitch it back up tight. that way it never slides up the stock ,or rolls down.and you can find them for $5 or less. I also have one on my Pardner 20 ga.

Yeap, a cheap old Allen is what I use too. Good too for using materials underneath to raise the comb. As a friend told me to try ;) It really works well.

I tried a neoprene butt stock carrier, but didn't like it, ended up using a folding wallet style that I put on the belt of my fanny pack since I never hunt without it, got all my kill stuff in it to include a HH CB radio, what's one more thing!

I use the the eslastic stock carrier like some others.  But there are usually 20 in a factory ammo box in the fanny pack as back-up.

I also use the Allen shell holders. I think they hold nine rounds. If you can't kill him with nine shots you just as well go to the house.....

Well for us Buffalo Classic types, you cant go wrong with a canvas and leather belt.  I got mine from Dixie; but Ive seen nicer and more expensive ones on the CAS sites.  I also use a leather carrier for really big stuf when Im on "safari".  I think I got it from Murray or Bob Allen.  The cheap elastic ones work; well they look cheap.......

I use one of the elastic butt stock carriers but I put it on my belt.Being flexible it doesn't get in the way and is very accessible.
