I'm going to be taking my 16 year old daughter deer hunting in a few weeks and need a light recoiling .45 cal load with Pyrodex P and 195 grain Power Belts. She is 5' 6" and slim build, and recoil sensitive. I took her to Kentucky last year, but loaded my .223 with 65 grain Sierra Gamekings and she found those quite managable. I'm thinking 50 or 60 grains of Pyrodex P would be adequate for whitetails at close range (inside 60 yards), but was wondering if anyone knows of any ballistics charts on line that would help me determine velocity of various loads. I have a chronograph, but the local range won't allow me to use it (since its set up between the firing line and the targets. Any info would be appreciated.
