Mr. Hack
The Ithaca gun co.at one time had a pair of Musgrave sporting rifles in the co. gun collection . Both bolt action magazine rifles, One was a 30/06 and the other was a .375 H&H magnum. I handled both rifles, the 30/06 really didn't impress me that much, but the .375 was a delight ,I never thought a .375 would be so petite and shoulder so well. I don't know very much about these DG rifles and I'm sure that you have handled more of them than any one I could talk to. I could have purchased this rifle for $1500 would this have been a good choice?
Incidently, I don't know if Ithaca at one time wanted to import these rifles to sell to the United States market or not, but both rifles were barrel stamped with the King Ferry,NY address. I beleive this is a SA manufacture. I don't know of any other Musgrave rifles with this address on them.
