Which one???
« on: October 20, 2006, 10:34:28 PM »
Iam looking to put a powder measure on my Lyman T-Mag.Was looking at the Lyman #55 and the RCBS Uniflow. Both are priced about the same.I had read the reviews for both;some cuss them and some praise them.I probably will only load pistol rounds on press so the other barrel that RCBS doesn't give you is of no matter.I would take the smaller for pistol and not the standard one..................Rick

Eather should do a good job with ball powders, but neather will do well with stick powders. If you plan to load stick powders drop your loads just short and trickle in to charge weight.

I have the lyman 55 and two uniflows, one with the large cylinder and one with the small.  I find I use the lyman almost exclusively.  I prefer its three step plug.  I have never done a head to head test.  Just preference.  JB

I use the uniflow that came with my RCBS kit.  It works very well with flake and ball powders.  I have ran stick powder through it, but that gets ugly.

Lyman 55 hands down.  I load stick, flake, and ball powder, and the flake and ball are obviously more consistent, but the stick is always very, very close, within .1 of a grain.
