Beeman R9 Goldfinger review
« on: November 12, 2006, 10:04:13 AM »
I have had one for several years, I had done my research and bought one
I had had a $150 Gamo on it was "ok", but I wantd a really nice one

the "goldfinger" version has a 4-12x40AO Banner scope and a gold trigger
when I ordered it I asked guy for a recommendation on pellets, he said the Beeman FTS

got it, pulled it out of the box, very impressive
nice wood, well finished, loaded up a pelllet sighted in about 35 -40 yards and it was pretty close to being dead on (they boresight them) within a few minutes I was having basically one ragged hole groups
we started putting thumb tacks in a boad and drilling them at 30 yards

very, very nice two stage trigger
a little take up, butter smooth,  and then it has a crisp sub 2lb break

everyone who has shot it is extremely impressed

so, enough about nice tight groups on paper!

so..
at 25 yards or so it blows through a 3/4 piece of plywood and the backside is ripped apart

head shots at 30-40 yards on crows are easy
crows shot through the upper chest at the same distance just fold and drop
shot a few squirrels at 20-30 yards and same thing

The other day I saw a crow a good 60 + yards out in the top of a 40ft tree and stabilizing myself against the door jam, dialed the scope up to 12 and aimed about an inch and a 1/2 high over his shoulder and squeezed the trigger
poof! saw the feathers fly in the scope and down it tumbled

I haven't posted on this section before and thought I would share my experiences
I also have a Beeman p9 177 pistol that is the same thing, ultra nice trigger and extremely freaking accurate
