garage find
« on: November 02, 2008, 09:57:15 AM »
hi everyone.  I was going through some stuff in my grandparent's garage
today, and found an action in a box of old hand brace bits.
it appears to be a winchester 1885 action, but it's missing the hammer and trigger group.
there are no markings on it except for a few numbers on the bottom reicever "strap where the stock bolts on
is there a website availabe that might help me id this reciever?
if i can get my camera working right, i'll post some pics

I looked at this exploded diagram a while back:
http://thedisease.net/?ejaculate=library&your_poison=Firearms%20Schematics

The words in the url are kinda weird and I was concerned it may be a bad proposition to go there.
It seems to be ok.
If you want to be extra careful, start at the top address:
http://thedisease.net/

It is a gun/shooting site.
