Surplusrifle.com is going off line. It's definately sad. There's so much info to benifit from and many good reads for the surplus noobs, and vets alike.
 
Just thought it deserves attention, because it is/was such a great site.

I visit that site often. Will be so sad to see it go. Nothing stops any of us from opening our own! Maybe I will.

I have posted about this in the past.  As far as I know the site will stay up but run by Layne from Tennessee Gun Parts.  He said the site will change a lot though.

I should have added that ordering the CD's is a good idea as they probably won't have all of the info like they do now.  Changes could mean a lot of things, probably won't know for sure until it changes hands.

Received the following email that says surplusrifles.com and the forum will continue:

Howdy all:

We’ve had a lot changes at SurplusRifleForum and though it would be
wise to keep you up to date.

Most have heard that Jamie Mangrum has stepped back from the
Surplusrifles websites due to health reasons. The main site
SurplusRifle.com and the forum SurplusRifleForum.com will continue
on, just under different owners.  Tennessee Gun Parts has agreed to
keep the main site open and I’ve taken over the Forum and Chat room.
(What have I gotten myself into.)

Jamie, Mark and Ted have also started a new website with a broader
view on firearms at firearmreflections.com. Be sure to take a moment
a check it out.

For those who haven’t logged on in a while, we have addressed a
number of concerns.  We have changed servers, the same name, just
faster service and no more hassles in posting, or getting hung up
waiting.  We have also tweaked the forum index and added a few areas.
  Come back and visit us!

Sometime in 2007 we will also be upgrading our software, it will
allow a lot more features.

For those of you who use avatars, if your avatar didn’t make the
switch to the new server, please upload them again.

We want to thank all of those who donated funds to keep the forum
self supporting.  We would like to acknowledge and recognize all who
have contributed your hard earned bucks to keep this site alive, if
you desire to have the Benefactor rank to reflect your support of

Please include in your PM the method (check, cash or paypal) you used
to donate, the identifying name/email address and your
handle/nickname.  As time permits we will match up the information to

Thanks again to all who have contributed, including those who wish to
remain anonymous. For those who have contributed in the past, thank
you again for your support. In the past all who contributed their
rank was automatically changed. If you wish to revert back to the
traditional "Bullet" ranks, just PM JonesBoy or edhoffer and we can
change your “rank”.

As an update to our financial status we now have enough funds to
cover us till approximately April 2008 barring any unforeseen
problems. So contribute when you can, and long live the forum.
Thanks to all the Moderators for helping to keep eveything running
around here. I know hter is no way I could do it all on my own.
I would also like to thank Ed Hoffer for continuously keeping my PM
Inbox full and helping with some of the more mundane tasks on the
forum.

Lastly we have a few new faces in the Moderator ranks. Please welcome
arkyboy, lowrdrbird, LtlWilli, Pathfinder and VonAlt.
