Mossberg 500 trigger

I recently bought a Mossberg 500 shotgun. I noticed with my Remington and Browning shot guns the triggers are somewhat crisp but the Mossberg has alot of creep and is very heavy. Is there anything I can do to take the creep out?

I imagine that problem is gun to gun, but I have a mid 1980`s vintage 500 and the trigger is fantastic :) I think sometimes you can get one with a bad trigger. Maybe check with a local Gunsmith? Jack.
