Marlin sight thread size ?

  Hello,  I am wondering if anyone knew what size the front sight screws are on a Marlin 94'. For that matter would anyone have any recommendations on what the most popular size taps and drills are to have around for general gunsmithing ?

Most sight screws are 6x48. If your looking for a 'kit', Brownells sells a gun screw assortment that contains nearly any normal gun screw and a few not so normal..

This is a great question.

I removed the front sight on my 1895 and I would like to put somthing back in the holes. Do you have to buy the whole set?

They also sell refills of the screws in the kit.. They're not too expensive but I don't remember how much.. They also sell a filler screw with a slight head that I find works a lot better that the normal cylindrical filler scrrews. They have a wonderful catalog and a very usable website.. though for a true gunnut the catalog is required reading..
