Savage 99 .250-3000

A friend of mine has a Model 99 .250-3000 s/n 521223. According to the s/n, it was made in 1949. It has a 24" barrel, pistol grip stock with checkering, schnoble tip with checkering. It has a steel curved buttplate. It is round bottomed with rotary magazine and cartridge counter in the side.

Would anyone know which Model 99 this might be?
