Each Encore as all ML's has a specfic load it prefers. I have two and several of my hunting partners have them as well. They all seem to be different. Dead Centers are a love em or hate em in the Encores I have been around. One of the more consistant bullets I have seen from a gun to gun point of view is the 250gr T/C Shock Wave. I have never seen a Encore that if fitted with the proper Sabot, Powder, Primer and between shot routine (swabing or lack of swabing) could not shot 1 1/2" groups at 100 yds with the 250gr shock waves.
Both of my Encores do even better with the 300gr Shock Waves than they do with the 250. But most guys do not want to go that heavy so I have only the results of my two guns to go on. My Encores seem to prefer heaver bullets. I have shot alot of Barnes bullets in them and the heaver bullets almost always shot a tighter group. I have seen a lot of good groups with several of the Barnes bullets as well.
One of my Encores dose much better on fffg 777 than it dose on ffg. The other dose not seem to care much one way or another. I have found with the 250gr bullet most guns will produce a good group from 100 to 115gr. One of mine dose better at 105gr the other 112gr.
