remington 700 ?
« on: November 14, 2006, 11:40:39 AM »
I was at a shop yesterday and saw a 700 in 300wsm. The gun had a grey laminated stock and stainless barrel. It was very sharp looking. I looked at the remington website to see what calibers were available for that model and could not find it. Could it be a leftover? I like the rifle but not sure about the 300wsm. Please feel free to comment on either. Thanks,Bo.

I think pretty much all of those gray laminated stocked guns are special runs for some distributor who orders enough to have Remington make a special run. BUT they did used to stock a model called the LSS which came with the gray laminated wood. At first it was only made in left hand actions and magnum chamberings but last year they made up some in both short and long action non magnum chamberings. I picked up one in .30-06 just to get the stock for a project gun later. I'm thinking it will become a 9,3x62 most likely.

I've seen them in several short action chamberings, in both .270 and .30-06 and a .300 Win. Mag. I'm not sure if they made any in the WSM chamberings or not.

Yes, the LSS was offered in the .300WSM.
