XP-100 Info Request

I purchased a vintage Remington XP-100 today with a 7X Burris scope. The XP is a 243Win caliber and I find no info on that caliber in the Remington site. Further the gun has no date code that I see on left side of the receiver. According to the prior owner, it was a custom shop made gun (I suspect thats the case). The stock is absolutely gorgeous burl walnut not the usual plastic seen around. (Photos available).

The fireamr also has a muzzle tamer but it is a screw on with a snugging nut and detent in the threads. 

Is there anyway to date the gun?
