Give www.prbullet.com a look. 400-450g looks like the winner. Hornady also makes 400+g conicals

My brother has the same rifle and shoots 100 gr. Pyrodex with 248 gr. Powerbelts ballistic tip. This set up is very accurate.

I have 2 BDs, a .45 Super XR and a .50 XR, both shoot Powerbelts w/777 FF or FFF  extremely well, 295gr in the .45, .348gr and 405gr in the .50. ;)

:DThanks for all the good info, I have tried 320 REAL bullets 320  TC Maxis, 360  Lee Imp. Minnies, all not very acc. There is the Lee Target minni I haven't tried some people call them soup cans or ashcans. Has any body tried these in a .50   TC BL> Diamond???  Lee advertises them as there most acc. minni

I know several, more than 5 different people with BD's & Knights that had the same results as you with what you have listed, including the minnies. No Good! But all have found MOA accuracy with the 460 grain NoExcuses being pushed with 70 to 85 grains of 777 ffg, and 65 to 75 grains of fffg. The NoExcuses are a big time big game accurate conical. Speaking of 470 Maxihunters, I spotted some yesterday ... several boxes for $9.25 each. I was tempted - maybe I'll go back there on Monday. Only place in my neck of the woods that has them.

What are the ballisics of this load? How is the trajectory or rather how much drop between 100 yards and 200 yard?

The NoExcuses have about a .28 BC, a .36 TKO factor at 1400 fps, the drop about 15 to 18 inches from 125 yards to 200 yards.

I use the NE out to 150 yards using 70 grains 777 and a wad. This bullet and powder charge does not like to be pushed hard. It is basically a 150 yard maximum load for my purposes. Just make sure you recheck your 50 yard groups after shooting it at 150. I was like 5-1/2" high at 50 yards when I went back. So you need to tweak your sights or scope again - almost like sighting-in twice... mainly because of the bullet arch.

This bullet will kill a deer well beyond 150 yards with so many downrange thumping power still remaining. But the longer the shot -- the more arch you'll need. Real nice bullet for hunting... just a bit more limited and not as flat as a light to medium weight sabot.

If I zero at 125 yards I'm 3.4 inches high at 50 yards, and 4 inches low at 150 yards. I know my rifle, and my ranges where I hunt. I'm 17 inches low at 200 yards. I know that range too. My accuracy is very very good at 200 yards. It's also very repeatable. The foot pounds of engery is more than enought to kill a moose at 200 yards. Nothing wrong with speed. Nothing wrong with big and heavy. That's why there are soo many different kinds. As long as it accuracte, with enought killing power, and the shooter can shoot. I love the arc myself!!! I love that sound of that big conical hitting home!! ;D
