Christmas Dilemma
« on: November 21, 2006, 12:57:10 PM »
I'm hoping Ol' St Nick leaves me a package under the tree this year but before I write him my letter I wanted to confer with the experts.  I have two question on the subject:

1) Handi or Ultra

and

2) What Caliber?  I would like to have a caliber that is versitile, by that I mean one I could go punch a few holes in some targets, take down a varmit, or would be suitible for that annual (maybe) whitetail.  I hope I'm not asking a lot but I trust the opinions here on GBO.

Thanks...

Welcome aboard!! That's a pretty simple question to answer, if you really like the laminated stocks, the Ultra is the only way to go which makes the caliber choices the .243, .25-06 or maybe the .270, good for varmints to deer! Of course you can always add accessory barrels to the list which broadens the versatility. I'll let others add their recommendations other than ALL of em!!! ;D

I have been happy with a 245 in a handy.  100 grain for whitetail and 55 or so for yotes.  Good hunting, Gary
